The 5 Best Things to Do with your Dog in Orlando

Your dog is part of your family.

So, when you take a family vacation, they should be included, too!

At Rosen Inns, we’re big fans of traveling with your pup. That’s why all our properties are dog-friendly, allowing you to include them in your memory-making.

If you’re planning a trip to Orlando with your dog and looking for dog friendly activities to enjoy together, we’ll help you find just the thing.

Here are the 5 Best Things to Do with your Dog in Orlando.

Boxi Park

A woman sips a beer with a dog in her lap at a table in front of a stage with a backdrop that reads Boxi Park.

If you’re looking for a great place to hang out, grab a few drinks and some food, and hang out with your dog, Boxi Park is a great option.

Located in Lake Nona, this trendy outdoor dining complex that’s home to a stage, a playground, and twelve shipping containers that have been repurposed into bars and food counters.

Almost all of Boxi Park is outdoors, making it the perfect place to enjoy spending some time in Orlando with your pup. There's even a small dog park affectionately known as Barxi Park.

Boxi Park is also known for hosting a variety of live performances, trivia nights, and other events that are also dog-friendly.

Grab a margarita from La Cajita, a lobster roll from Claw & Order, and a sweet frozen treat from Before it Melts for the perfect night out with your furry best friend.

Lake Eola Park

In the heart of downtown Orlando is Lake Eola Park, a beautiful spot of serenity in the midst of a bustling metropolis.

Surrounding the lake is a .9-mile walking path that showcases artwork, landscaping, and the unusual swans, geese, and other birds that call the park home.

Lake Eola is a very dog-friendly area; you can even bring your pup on a swan boat ride to check out the park from the middle of the lake.

Relax Grill Restaurant & Bar is a casual outdoor eatery right along the path that welcomes dogs on their spacious patio.

Every Sunday morning from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Lake Eola hosts the Orlando Farmers Market, a large community event with over a hundred vendors selling artisan goods, crafts, produce, and of course, specialty pet products.

Friendly, leashed dogs are always welcome at the Orlando Farmers Market.

Lake Baldwin Park

A brown, curly, long-haired dog runs in a park.

Baldwin Park is a beautiful neighborhood of Orlando that surrounds a large sparkling lake.

Surrounding the lake is a clean, well-kept walking trail that is popular with runners, families, walkers, and pet-owners.

While you can get a great workout walking the 2.5-mile trail, your dog will definitely love stretching their legs at Lake Baldwin Park, located along the shore of the lake.

This 23-acre park is distinct in Orlando for two reasons: it’s one of only two city parks with a sandy beach, and the only “dog-friendly” city park where dogs can be off-leash.

Pups love being able to get their paws wet in the lake and dry off while running the huge expanse of enclosed land that makes up the majority of the park.

There are plenty of picnic tables at the park, as well as pavilions and restrooms, including showers just for sandy, dirty dogs.

Se7en Bites

Se7en Bites is an Orlando foodie must-try that conveniently loves dogs as much as they love serving Southern food.

You may recognize owner and chef Trina Gregory from her appearances on shows like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Guy’s Grocery Games, and Somebody Feed Phil.

Gregory’s rich, hearty Southern-style cooking has made Se7en Bites one of the most noteworthy restaurants in Orlando – and they just so happen to love dogs.

Behind the restaurant is a quiet patio where you and your dog(s) are welcome to pull up a spot at a picnic table and enjoy your meal.

You can chow down on dishes like the Minnie Pearl (buttermilk fried chicken between two pearl sugar waffles drizzled with hot honey, vanilla bourbon syrup, and a fried egg) and a treat or two from the bakery counter while your dog keeps your company.

Expect some dog-friendly attention from their pet-loving staff, too.

BarkHaven Dog Bar

BarkHaven is a self-proclaimed “urban oasis for dogs and their people.”

This is a spot where your pup can truly unwind and be themselves while making furry friends along the way.

BarkHaven has an outdoor off-leash area where dogs can romp and play. Indoors and in the front beer garden, dogs must be on-leash.

Humans can order from the onsite food truck and enjoy cocktails, mocktails, and flavor-packed dishes like Caribbean Sticky Ribs, a Lebanese burger, and flatbreads fresh out of the wood oven.

And yes, there’s a Puppy Menu so your dog can enjoy a special treat, too.

Make friends, enjoy good food, and even have your dog groomed while you’re socializing and relaxing.

All dogs must be registered and have a membership or day pass to play at BarkHaven – but humans are always free!
