8 Must-Try Foodie Destinations in Orlando

Whether you come to Orlando for the theme parks or on business, there’s always something new and delicious to try.

Central Florida is home to an array of diverse cuisines and the chefs who revere them. Many have opened celebrated restaurants serving traditional and innovative cultural dishes from all over the world.

If you consider yourself a foodie, Orlando is the right place to visit. From restaurants with Michelin acclaim and chefs receiving recognition from the James Beard Awards to smaller establishments that have gained local popularity, we have it all.

Here is our list of the 8 must-try foodie destinations in Orlando for you to enjoy during your next visit.

DOMU

Nestled into the East End Market in Audubon Park is DOMU, a three-time Michelin Bib Gourmand award-winning ramen and small plates restaurant. You may recognize it from its appearance in Season 7 of the Netflix hit series “Somebody Feed Phil”.

The name “DOMU” means “Dream Come True,” and for chef and owner Sean “Sonny” Nguyen, that’s exactly what the restaurant is. Its creative small plates, house-made noodles, and bar menu of seasonal cocktails blends authentic Japanese culinary techniques with a modern twist.

While they’re known for their rich and flavorful ramen dishes, be sure to save room for an order of DOMU Wings (voted the best wings in Orlando) and cleverly crafted New Asian Buns.

Their chic interior makes it the perfect spot for a date night or dinner with friends. Plan on sidling up to the bar for a bit; DOMU doesn’t take reservations and there’s usually a line out front before their doors open for the night.

And yeah...it's worth it.

Strand

The Mills 50 District of Orlando is home to some of the city’s best restaurants and foodie endeavors. One fantastic establishment is Strand, a quaint cozy eatery that has been a staple of the area for ten years.

Strand is also a Michelin Bib Gourmand award recipient, recognized for its unique dishes that pack comfort and flavor into every bite.

Their menu is constantly rotating to feature fresh, seasonal ingredients, and the chef strives to make dishes that feel simultaneously familiar and brand new.

Pair your meal with a stylish cocktail or a natural wine for a refreshing and elegant experience.

If you’re dining with a large group, you’ll want to plan to visit Strand another day; their intimate dining room can only accommodate groups of up to five guests.

Prato

Park Avenue in Winter Park is home to some of Orlando’s best shopping and restaurants, including Prato.

Prato’s ambiance is warm and welcoming with window-paned doors and year-round patio seating. It’s the perfect place for people-watching and enjoying a meal while looking out over Central Park.

Their menu is inspired by Italy’s culinary traditions, using modern techniques and seasonal ingredients to create dishes that taste and feel authentic.

From rich and crispy arancini served with sweet potato ricotta and fennel-pear mustarda to wood fired pizzas with toppings like hazelnut romesco and fig jam, you can indulge in as many courses as your appetite can manage.

Check out their sister restaurant, Luke’s Kitchen and Bar in Maitland, for seasonally inspired American dishes that put a contemporary spin on fine dining.

The Ravenous Pig

The Ravenous Pig is an award-winning American gastropub in Winter Park known for its use of local, sustainable ingredients and its awesome beer garden.

Husband-and-wife duo James and Julie Petrakis are both Winter Park natives whose award-winning restaurant has received the Michelin “Bib Gourmand” accolade in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

James and Julie have been recognized as semi-finalists by the James Beard Foundation for “Best Chef: South" for seven consecutive years.

The menu at The Ravenous Pig is known for its exceptional classic pub fare with an innovative twist. From roasted bone marrow to a Wagyu Rueben to butcher's cuts that rotate daily, their food is rich, hearty, and full of flavor.

They also serve brunch on the weekends (hello, chicken and waffles with guava, goat cheese, and an espresso milk crumb), and have a popular beer garden. Here, you can order craft brews, cocktails, and wine to pair with sandwiches, small plates, and their irresistible house-made chocolate chip cookies.

AVA MediterrAegean

A contemporary restaurant with rustic wooden furniture and vibrant greenery, with a glowing yellow bar in the background. This is AVA MediterrAegean, a great foodie destination in Orlando.

Another wonderful Winter Park restaurant is AVA MediterrAegean, a modern Greek agora concept that aims to provide diners with a multi-sensory journey.

With a philosophy rooted in minimalism and an emphasis on hospitality, their ambiance is warm and rustic with a variety of wooden textures and vibrant greenery.

Begin your meal with a variety of Mediterranean dishes including hummus, grilled octopus, mixed olives, falafel, and Greek dolmades.

Then, choose from a variety of entrées including fresh seafood like red snapper, branzino, and whole lobster, or a rack of lamb or filet mignon.

Pair your meal with a signature cocktail or a glass of wine from their extensive international wine list.

AVA MediterrAegean is also open for brunch on the weekends with a menu of classic breakfast favorites like eggs Benedict and select dishes from their dinner menu.

Pizza Bruno

Pizza in Orlando doesn’t get much tastier than Pizza Bruno.

Known for its Neapolitan-style woodfired pizzas topped with fresh ingredients, both classic and innovative, Pizza Bruno’s popularity has prompted it to expand from one location to three in the last few years.

In addition to their pizzas, the garlic knots at Pizza Bruno are legendary. Freshly made in-house and heaped with a buttery, garlicky pile of cheesy goodness, you’ll have to remind yourself to save room for your entrée.

Their menu is packed with starters like meatballs with lemon ricotta, fresh stracciatella and prosciutto, and wings, as well as beautiful salads to help you get your veggie fix.

While you can’t go wrong with their Classic ‘Zas, their House Specialty ‘Zas are out of this world. Try the Dirt Nap, topped with truffle parmesan cream, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, roasted mushrooms, and more truffle goodness. The Lover Boy Blue pizza is truly unique, topped with mozzarella and fontina cheese, rosemary, blueberries, bacon, local honey, and creamy burrata.

Tori Tori

On the cusp of the Mills 50 district you’ll find Tori Tori, Chef Sonny Nguyen of DOMU’s second Orlando love letter to Japanese food.

This moody, trendy, and modern bar is serving up craft cocktails like signature highballs, wine, beer, sake, and whisky for guests over 21 looking for a refreshing way to unwind and wake up the palate.

Their food menu has earned them many accolades, featuring items like Blue Crab & Corn Croquettes and lamb Karubi Lollipops, as well as their popular yakitori chicken and kushiyaki veggies and meats grilled over charcoal.

Tori Tori has been recognized by Michelin for the past three years for their beautiful bar menu and chic atmosphere.

Check out their happy hour Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for discounted cocktails, beer, wine, and sake.

Kabooki Sushi

Sushi isn’t just a food –  it’s an art form.

At Kabooki Sushi in Orlando, Chef Henry Moso has taken a passion for culinary precision and Japanese flavors to the next level.

Chef Moso was one of five James Beard Award finalists in the “Best Chef: South” category in 2023, the first in Orlando. Take a trip to one of Kabooki’s two locations and you’ll instantly see why.

In a city with a lot of great sushi competition, Kabooki’s menu is innovative and refreshing. They offer exceptional raw nigiri and sashimi, inventive makimono (sushi rolls) like the LV with lump crab, tempura flakes and asparagus topped with torched wagyu and truffle oil, and exceptional raw and hot tastings to tempt your palate.

If you’re interested in an incredible omakase experience, which offers a multi-course tasting menu left entirely in the hands of Chef Moso and his team, grab a seat at the sushi bar and tuck in for a treat.
